Tom Daley added a Commonwealth title to his world and European crowns as he teamed up with Max Brick for the men's 10m synchro.

Daley, 16, and Brick, 18 took the lead at the end of the second round but faced tough competition from Australia. Canada and Malaysia.

With just the final round to go Daley and Brick were 11.52 points ahead of Australia. But another great dive from the pair saw them notch up a combined total of 439.65 and took the gold.

After the event Daley told 5 Live: "It was a very tough event but we have been putting a lot of work in.

"We did one of the hardest dives in our list but we pulled it off today and we got a massive personal best as well. We wanted to come here and do well and to get the gold was the icing on the cake.

"It has been a difficult year since Rome [world championship in 2009] with injury, growing and learning new dives.

"It has been tough. We'd only been training 10 days at the European Championships before I tore my tricep and we had 10 days before we came here so it's only been 20 days of training since Rome and we've come away with a Commonwealth gold medal."

The English due won by 15.84 points with Australia taking silver while Canada took the bronze.
