Tyson Gay's Season Ends With Surgery

Tyson Gay will not run again this season after undergoing a arthroscopic procedure on his right hip.
The former world champion looked out of sorts at the U.S. trails for the world championships last month and was forced to pull out of the semi-finals.
The American had looked to be in decent shape earlier this season clocking times of 9.79 seconds - and a showdown with Usain Bolt at the worlds promised to be an exciting one.
But injury has once again hampered his title hopes and he will now try and recover for next year's Olympic Games.
Gay's manager Mark Wetmore told Reuters: "The doctor was pleased with the outcome and believes Tyson will resume his normal base training in the fall as he prepares for 2012.
Gay has never been able to recapture the form that took him to the 2007 100m and 200m world titles on a consistent basis.
He picked up an injury in the 200m at the US trial for the 2008 Olympic Games and did not make the final in Beijing over 100m because of that injury.
At those games Usain Bolt went on to smash both world records taking home the 100m and the 200m Olympic titles.
