Usain Bolt returned to action with a bang last night at the Diamond League meeting Lausanne as he clocked a 9.82 second victory.
The Jamaican has been out of action for six weeks as he recovered from an Achilles tendon injury, but he showed no signs of any problem as he cruised to victory.
He missed out on Asafa Powell's meeting record but looked to be getting back to his dominant best but 9.82 equalled the world's quickest time this year over 100m, which was set by Powell in Rome last month.
He finished ahead of countryman Yohan Blake, who posted a season's best of 9.96secs, with Churandy Martina third in 10.16s.
In the 200m there was another win for Walter Dix, who had beaten former world champion Tyson Gay earlier this month, as he clocked a time of 19.88 second to comfortably win the 200m.
Churandy Martina finished second in 20.08 while Xavier Carter finished third in a time of 20.15.
Jeremy Wariner looks to be finding his form as he won the 400m in a time of 44.57 ahead of compatriot LeJarald Betters and Jermaine Gonzales of Jamaica.
It was another sub 11 second clocking for Carmelita Jeter as she stopped the clock at 10.99 in the 100m with Sherone Simpson and Chandra Sturrup.
British athletes continued their preparation for the European Championships, which kick off at the end of the month, as David Greene finished fifth in a loaded 400m hurdles.
Greene has been the fastest European so far this season but he was no match for Bershawn Jackson as he won in a time of 47.62 with Angelo Taylor in second and Felix Sanchez finished like a train to take third.
There was also a fifth place finish for Michael Rimmer in the 800 meters as he clocked a time of 1:44.30, Kenyan runner David Lekuta Rudisha won the race.
And Lisa Dobriskey showed that she is getting back to form, after a late start to the season, as she finished fourth in the 1500m in 4:01.83.
