Allyson Felix is one of eight defending champions that have been named in a very strong American team for the upcoming world championships in Daegu

Felix is looking to win two gold medals in China at the end of the month as she will go in both the 200m and the 400m.

The USA is also the favourite in the women's 100m as Carmelita Jeter has been the one to beat so far this season.

The men's sprint team is equally as impressive as Walter Dix, Justin Gatlin and Michael Rodgers go over 100m - Dix doubling up over the 200m.

LaShawn Merrit will be looking to defend his 400m title after returning from a sustention while Kerron Clement will also be looking to defend his 400m hurdles title.

The 400m hurdles has been one of the most exciting events of the 2011 season with Clement not only battling with felloe country men Bershawn Jackson and Angelo Taylor, who also made the team, but they will be challenged by Louis van Zyl and Britain's Dai Greene.

Another event that is set to explode in Daegu is the 110m hurdles with David Oliver being one of the world leaders in that event this year.

Trey Hardee (decathlon), Dwight Phillips (long jump) and Brittney Reese (long jump) will all also be looking to retain their world titles.
