Colin Montgomerie Could Be Talked Into Ryder Cup Captaincy

Colin Montgomerie has revealed that he could be talked into taking on the role of Ryder Cup captain for a second time -but he would not throw his name into the hat.
Montgomerie lead Europe to a stunning 14 1/2 - 13 1/2 victory over America last year - a victory that came down to the final pairing on the very last day.
2014 sees the event take place at Gleneagles, which is a stone throw from his home. And while he said that he wouldn't take the captain's role on again he may re-think if he was asked.
Speaking to Sky Sports he said: "I wouldn't put my hat into the ring.
"Yes, it is local, I live five miles away and being Scots I suppose there is a little bit of a push for me to be captain again - whether the Tour want that or not I'm not sure.
"I will be available to help the Tour in any shape, way or form, whether it's as a captain, whether it's helping the captain or whether it's doing ambassadorial for the hotel.
"But, at the same time that I won't be throwing my hat in the ring, if someone asks me I won't refuse."
For his work with the Ryder Cup Montgomerie picked up the Coach of the Year Award at the 2010 Sports Personality of the Year.
