Tiger Woods believes that he is making progress with his game and he is slowly building to being able to play more consistently.

The former world number one was in action in Melbourne at the weekend and shot a sixty five on Sunday to produce his best round.

Woods showed everyone what he was capable of in the final six holes of the round as he sunk two birdies and two eagles, but just missed out on defending his title - he finished fourth.

And while 2010 is the first year that he has not won a title Woods was happy with the way his game is developing.

Speaking to Sky Sports Woods said: "I can do this in streaks. Unfortunately I haven't done this for an entire round yet.

"That's one of the things when you are making changes in the game - it takes time," said the 34-year-old.

"I'm pleased at some of the progress I have made because the streaks are now lasting longer, but I still have to do it for an entire round. And it was obvious here that I didn't do it for all 72 holes.

"I played like this at the Ryder Cup. I got into a streak there and went pretty low for 15 holes and this is similar to that.

"I just need to get it for all 18 and eventually into all 72. That's what I'm building towards."
