Inter pushing hard for defender deal

Inter pushing hard for defender deal

Inter Milan have reportedly made a bid to sign Matteo Darmian on loan with the option to buy next summer in a deal worth £13.5million.

Italian newspaper Leggo claim Inter want to pay Manchester United £0.9m for the initial six month loan from January and agree a final purchase option of £12.6m.

However, United are understood to be holding out for £16.2million for the Italy international - who cost a reported £12.7m when he signed from Torino 16 months ago.

The 26-year-old defender looks likely to be heading back to Serie A in January after struggling for playing time under Jose Mourinho in the first half of the campaign.

Juventus are also interested in the former Torino man, so Inter are pushing hard to get a deal done as soon as possible.
