Dejan Lovren looks set to come straight back into the Liverpool starting XI to face Chelsea while Philippe Coutinho could also return.
Lovren missed last week's win against Leicester after suffering an eye injury in training but has now recovered sufficiently to take his place in the squad for the trip to Stamford Bridge.
The Croatia international should go straight back into the line-up in place of Lucas Leiva and boss Jurgen Klopp could also opt to make changes elsewhere.
Playmaker Coutinho started on the bench for the 4-1 win over Leicester due to his exertions during the international break but could be restored to the starting XI.
Klopp may decide to make a switch in goal with Loris Karius fit again following a hand injury and he appears to be putting current No.1 Simon Mignolet under pressure.
Liverpool will be without Emre Can, Joe Gomez and Sheyi Ojo for the clash as they look to pick up a third win of the season against an unbeaten Chelsea side.
