MotoGP Brno up next

Fiat Yamaha duo Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo arrive at the Brno curcuit in the Czech Republic for round eleven of the 2009 MotoGP season this week riding high at the top of the standings, despite a disappoinment of Donnington Park..

This years top performing pair sit first and second in the world championship with seven races remaining, Rossi leads by 25 points, with an intriguing run-in to the end of the season awaiting.

Brno is a particularly special track for Rossi as he took the first of his 101 career victories there, in the 125cc class in 1996. The 30 year-old has a strong record there overall having since added a 250cc victory and four MotoGP wins to his tally, including last year on the way to his eighth World title.

Rossi slid out of the rain soaked race while leading T Donington last time out but remounted to finish fifth, extending his lead at the head of the points table, Jorge had slid out earlier in the race.

The other championship contender Casey Stoner will be abscent from Brno as he continues his battle against his bouts of sickness, the Ducati rider looks set to misstwo more rounds.

FemaleFirst's champion Tissot sponsored Nicky Hayden will be hoping for a better result after Donningtons 'tyre' disaster.

Nicky having steadily improved this season said he was bitterly disappointed when the team chose to run on wets and the track started to dry during the early stages of the race leaving him running with no grip.

In the 125's Bradley Smith will also be hoping to put Donnington behind and close the gap on championship leader Julian Simon, after he could only finish in 20th place in the British 125cc Grand Prix at Donington.
