Another fascinating season in 2008 saw Valentino Rossi reclaim the MotoGP World Championship after 2 years away from the top spot. 2009 promises to be one of the most exciting seasons in years with a number of MotoGP’s younger stars lining up alongside the established order to try to be the Champion in 2009.

The 2009 season will again take place over 17 races in 13 countries. Over 2.7 million people are expected to attend the races on-site with millions of television viewers watching on television every weekend.

Tissot Pole Position Awards

Tissot will again present the Pole Position Award at each of the MotoGP in 2009. The holder of pole position in each of the classes after the qualifying competition at each race will win the Tissot Pole Position Award for their class.

Each of the watches presented for the pole position award in the three classes is unique and has been developed especially, with the case back engraved with the specific circuit name and the class to commemorate the occasion. The uniqueness of this award means that many of the racers keep the watch and presentation helmet as a souvenir of their achievements over the race weekend.
