Michael Rutter equalled Ron Haslam's record after winning his sixth Macau Grand Prix on Saturday.
Rutter, riding for Red Bull Honda, led from start to finish, with John McGuinness second and Les Shand making it an English sweep of the podium.
Rutter was untouchable as he put his British Superbike Championship disappointment behind him and he revelled amongst the twists and turns that the circuit provides.
British riders almost made a clean sweep of the first ten places, the only interloper being Mark Miller of the USA who finished sixth.
Rutter had led from a pole start and only McGuinness was able to offer any real challenge to the unstoppable rider, with Austrian Thomas Hinterreiter who was second on the grid withdrawing due to injury.
The first two left the remaining riders way behind for most of the 15 laps as the pack fell behind from the start, although Thompson and Callum Ramsay enjoyed a closely contested battle for fourth place, until Ramsey retired five laps from home.
However, Rutters win was overshadowed by the death of 45-year-old French rider Bruno Bonhuil, who died of chest injuries after crashing in practice.
