The Great Sphinx of Giza and 10,000 fans cast a keen eye over the 12 best FMX athletes on the planet on Friday night.
At the second stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 desert winds, sand and temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius pushed man and machine to the limit.
Adam Jones held off Andre Villa in an all out final run to take home the winner’s trophy from the amazing event in Giza.
Speaking after his win, Jones excitedly said "This is the best feeling ever, I haven't won anything in nearly two years.
"It feels awesome and it means so much. It means I'm myself again! I have a lot more confidence going into Moscow now."
After the most spectacular showdown in the history of Red Bull X-Fighters in London in 2009, the premier freestyle motocross series in the world returns in 2010 with new riders, new locations and plenty of new tricks.
This year will once again see the crème-de-la-crème of the international FMX scene battle it out for the coveted title of Red Bull X-Fighters Champion. X-Fighters Returns to London’s Battersea Power Station on August 14th with Tickets going on sale from June 14th
