Crystal Palace will launch a January bid to sign Santos playmaker Lucas Lima after failing to do a deal in the summer, reports claim.
It has been claimed that Palace boss Alan Pardew failed with a bid to sign the 26-year-old on deadline day after running out of time, and will make a fresh approach in the new year.
The signing of Lima would represent a huge coup for the Eagles as they would have to fight off competition from some big-spending clubs in the Far East to complete a deal.
Pardew hopes the chance to play in the Premier League would sway the Brazil international to head to Selhurst Park, but he will have to use all of his powers of persuasion.
The attacking midfielder has now picked up 12 caps for Brazil and Pardew believes he is just the kind of player to help move the Eagles on to the next level.
