Crystal Palace failed with a bid to sign Santos midfielder Lucas Lima in the summer as he holds out for a move to a bigger club.
The Eagles have been heavily linked with a move for the 26-year-old and boss Alan Pardew was willing to pay in the region of £12million to bring him to Selhurst Park.
Lima's agent Wagner Ribeiro has now confirmed that Palace did make a move for his client, and although Santos were willing to sell, the player himself was not keen on the switch.
The attacking midfielder, who was seen as the perfect replacement for Yannick Bolasie, is holding out for a move to one of the Premier League's top clubs and turned down the move.
Chelsea have been linked in the past and Lima will be hoping that Antonio Conte's side firm up their interest when the transfer window re-opens in January.
