Mark McLinden is facing a race to be fit for the remainder of the season.
Harlequins full-back Mark McLinden will be out of action for at least three months.
The Australian hurt his Achilles tendon last month and this week had surgery for an unrelated abdominal illness.
McLinden, 28, was discharged from hospital but then readmitted days later for further surgery due to infection.
It is hoped McLinden will be discharged from hospital within the next week.
