Jamie Thackray scored five tries in 27 games last season.
Former Great Britain prop has left Super League leaders Leeds Rhinos by mutual consent.
The 28-year-old forward joined from Hull in 2006 but has failed to break into the first-team squad this season.
Thackray has won three caps for Great Britain but was not part of the Lions squad that beat New Zealand 3-0 last year.
Meanwhile, prop Kylie Leuluai has been named in a 19-man squad for Friday's trip to St Helens despite being carried off in the 44-2 defeat of Bradford last week.
However, Lee Smith and Carl Ablett have both been ruled out.
