Diamond looking for momentum

Sale Sharks boss Steve Diamond wants his players to show some consistency to get the right result against Gloucester on Friday.

The north-west outfit went down to Newcastle Falcons in their opening fixture but hit back to beat Harlequins last time out and they will look for win number two against the Cherry and Whites at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Saracens, Bath and Wasps are the early Aviva Premiership pacesetters while Gloucester have yet to win a match.

However Diamond feels they will be no pushovers and has urged his men to maintain their current level to take the points.

"I think we just need some momentum," he said. "We need two wins on the bounce and we've got Gloucester coming, who are a really good attacking side. They have scored (more than) 50 points already this season.

"However, we just need to get our consistency with our set-piece as we did last week, and keep our defence up to scratch, and I think we will do all right."
