Wigan rugby player Iafeta Palea'aesina was released on bail.
Iafeta Palea'aesina has appeared in court to deny allegations that he broke a bus driver's jaw.
The New Zealand prop forward is alleged to have punched James Campbell, 29, in the face after an incident at Wigan railway station on 6 October.
The 25-year-old from Homeswood Road in Rufford, Lancashire, denied grievous bodily harm.
Mr Palea'aesina was released on bail from Wigan Magistrates' Court to appear at the same court on 18 December.
