Young hails ruthless Wasps

Wasps coach Dai Young hailed his side's ruthlessness after seeing them outclass Harlequins 47-18 on Sunday.

Ashley Johnson, Guy Thompson, Dan Robson, Elliot Daly, Christian Wade, Kyle Eastmond and Josh Bassett all crossed in an emphatic victory against a lacklustre Quins outfit.

The win takes them back to the top of the Aviva Premiership standings ahead of next weekend's trip to second-placed Saracens.

Young admitted afterwards that he was pleased with the edge his side showed in attack and believes they still have plenty of room for improvement.

"We were ruthless without a shadow of doubt," he said. "We had four visits to their 22 in the first half and scored four tries. That's something we've talked about constantly, and which has been a drum I've been banging since I've been here and it's perhaps taken a while to sink in.

"But you couldn't fault us today, as when we had opportunities we took them.

"I thought we showed some real attacking intent and scored some great tries, and the real exciting factor for me is that there is still a lot more to come from us."

In the other match on Sunday, Worcester claimed their first victory of the season with an 11-9 triumph over Newcastle at Sixways.
