Saints rekindle Ben Arfa interest

Southampton are being linked with a January swoop for Hatem Ben Arfa as he struggles to settle at new club Paris Saint-Germain.

The Saints were said to be interested in the services of the France international during the summer and were hopeful of persuading him to return to England, the 29-year-old having worked with St Mary's chief Claude Puel at Nice last season.

Ben Arfa's stunning form under Puel while at Nice earned him a move to the French champions, PSG, but he has failed to replicate his performances from his time on the south coast of France.

The former Newcastle and Hull playmaker has been left out of the Parisians' last three matchday squads by boss Unai Emery and is already being linked with a January exit from the Parc des Princes.

Were he to become available then it is being reported that Southampton would reignite their interest with Puel said to be watching Ben Arfa's situation closely.
