Stanislas backed for England call

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe believes winger Junior Stanislas could force his way into the England side if he continues to impress.

Stanislas managed two goals and two assists in the Cherries' 6-1 demolition of Hull last time out.

The 26-year-old winger initially struggled to make an impact after arriving from Burnley in the summer of 2014, but he has been in fine form this season.

The former West Ham forward was capped by England at youth level and Howe feels Stanislas is pushing for a senior call-up with his current performances.

He told the Bournemouth Echo: “Junior has done very well this season. The most important thing is he has developed an end product to his work.

“I think he’s always been an outstanding footballer and technically very good. But now we are seeing the goals and assists, which I think every wide player is judged on.

“He’s got great delivery. It’s one of the first things I noticed about him as a player. He manages to get that whip on his deliveries which is very difficult to defend against.

“He’s going the right way towards (England) recognition."
