Andy Roddick has revealed that it feels good to have qualified for the ATP World Tour Finals with all the set backs that he has had this year.
The American finds himself in group A alongside world number one Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Wimbledon finalist Tomas Berdych.
Roddick suffered from mononucleosis and struggled for consistent form and slid to world number ten. And despite picking up a groin injury last month he has battled back and cemented his place in the top eight.
Speaking to The Sun the former world number one said: "It does not get easier to qualify for these things and this time I'm probably about as proud of making it as ever.
"I only had three or four healthy months this season with getting sick and nagging injuries here and there.
"So to be able to get through to the finals and accomplish one of my goals feels good."
The ATP World Tour Finals gets underway on Sunday 21st November.
