Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters remain on course for fourth round clash as they both enjoyed straight sets victories to progress to the third round.

Justine Henin is playing in her first Wimbledon since coming out of retirement as she looks to capture her maiden title at SW19.

Since of Australian Open final Henin has not enjoyed consistent form but looked to have made the transition from clay to grass well.

The opening set was straight forward for the world number one as she broke Kristina Barrois twice as she took the opening set in comfortable fashion 6-3.

She broke again in the second and it was looking like a good win for the Belgian when she was 5-2 up.But Barrios really upped her game and when she reeled off three games in a row to level at 5-5 Henin released that she had a match on her hands.

But Henin dug deep in the eleventh game to break Barrios' serve as well as her spirit as she held her own serve to love to wrap up the win 6-3 7-5.

Henin will now face Nadia Petrova, who saw off Yng-Jan Chan, for a place in the last sixteen.

Kim Clijsters is also playing in her first Wimbledon she returned to action last year, winning the U.S. Open, and she is also looking for her first title in London.

But she had a more straight forward match against Karolina Sprem as she dropped just five games on the way to a 6-3 6-2 victory as Sprem had no answer for her powerful hitting.

She will now face Maria Kirilenko as she beat the unseeded Shenay Perry.
