Jelena Jankovic will meet Maria Sharapova in the final of the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.
Jankovic was the highest seed at seven to be left in the draw at the quarter final stage after a below par tournament for the seeds with the likes of Dinara Safina, Venus Williams and Elena Dementieva all crashing out in their opening match.
But the Serb has found some good form to her all the way to the final after she overcame Li Na.
But it wasn't a straight forward victory for the seventh seed as she was made to work by Na who broke Jankovic in both sets but was able to capitalise.
There was also an injury concern for the former world number one as she received on court treatment on her right arm.
But that didn't appear to hamper her play as she won in straight sets 6-4 6-3.
Maria Sharapova's comeback continues as she aims to win her first tournament since undergoing shoulder surgery a year ago.
The former Wimbledon champion has slowly been coming back to form and she has improved her ranking so far this year to twenty five.
But she faced a tough encounter against Agnieszka Radwanska, the eleventh seed. Sharapova dominated play in the opening set, taking it 6-3, but appeared to lose her way in the second as Radwanska battled back.
4-2 down Sharapova double faulted to give Radwanska another break to lead 5-2, she went on to serve out the set to level the match.
The momentum stayed with the eleventh seed as she opened up a 2-0 lead. But Sharapova battled back to take six of the next eight games to take the set and the match 6-3 2-6 6-4.
