Juan Martin Del Potro to Return To Action

Juan Martin Del Potro has revealed that he will be back in action on Monday in the Thailand Open in Bangkok.

The Argentinean has not played on the ATP tour since the Australian Open back in January due to a wrist injury.

But the former world number four announced his return on Twitter: "I'm happy to be able to tell you: I'm going to play again!"

"It will be at the Bangkok tournament next Monday."

After his stunning five set win over Roger Federer twelve months ago at Flushing Meadows the Argentinean has been dogged with tendonitis in his wrist.

He underwent surgery back in May and was forced to miss the French Open and Wimbledon as he tried to get back to full fitness.

He was also unable to defend his U.S. Open title after deciding that he wasn't in good enough shape for the trip to New York.

But his time away from the tour has impacted on his world ranking sliding from number four to world number thirty five.

And Del Potro makes his return against a strong field as world number one Rafael Nadal will play for the first time since winning the U.S. Open as the top seed.
