Juan Martin Del Potro

The Argentinean picked up a bronze medal at the Olympic Games at the weekend but looked a little fatigued as he faced Radek Stepanek.

Del Potro lost to Roger Federer 19-17 in the third and final set of the Olympic Games semi-final before seeing off Novak Djokovic in the bronze medal match and that really did show.

Del Potro's serve was broken four times throughout the match as Stepanek continued to pile on the pressure throughout the whole match.

Del Potro did battle back in the second set and was able to take it to a tie break but Stepanek was able to raise his level even more in the breaker to take the match 6-4 7-6 (7-5)

Stepanek will now face Tommy Haas in the next young as the veteran player saw off Gilles Simon in an impressive straight sets win.

Haas had been sidelined with yet more injury problems but he has battled back and is enjoying a great streak of form.

He lost just five games in the match against Simon as he sent the ninth seed packing with a 6-2 6-3 victory.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was another of the Olympic medallists who was unable to make it though his opening match yesterday.

Tsonga has a quarter final run in the singles in London before going on to claim a silver medal in the doubles.

He faced compatriot Jeremy Chardy in the second round match and fell in straight sets 6-4, 7-6(7-4).

Chardy will now face Marcel Granollers in the next round as the Spaniard saw off Florien Mayer 6-3 6-4.
