Yesterday Roger Federer continued his quest for yet another Wimbledon title as he came through his match with Philipp Kohlschreiber.
But the world number two faced his first test of this tournament as he dropped the third set when Kohlschreiber pulled out some great shots to take the tie break.
But Federer soon quashed any ideas that the twenty seventh seed had of taking the match to five sets as he took the fourth in decisive fashion to win 6-3 6-2 6-7 (5-7) 6-1. He will now play Robin Soderling in the next round.
And it was a marked improvement for Novak Djokovic as he produced his best performance to dispatch big hitting American Mardy Fish in straight sets 6-4 6-4 6-4 he will now face Dudi Sela.
But it was bad news for Frenchman Jo-Wilfred Tsonga as he was out powered by fellow big hitter Ivo Karlovic.
