Mardy Fish Lifts Atlanta Crown

Mardy Fish continued his good form as he saw off compatriot John Isner to lift the Atlanta Tennis Championships title.
This victory comes just two weeks after his win at the Hall of Fame Championships in Newport and he has now carved out a ten match winning streak.
It looked like Isner, who has clearly recovered from his marathon match at Wimbledon, was in control of the opening set when he finally secured the only break of the opener to seize the first set 4-6.
But Fish, who had already put out top seed Andy Roddick in the semi final stage, battled back in the second, which was again very tight.
Much like the opening set Fish managed to find a way through the Isner serve, Isner appeared to be struggling with the heat, late in the set.
And it was a gift of a break from Isner as a double fault handed Fish a break point, which he gladly took to level the match at a set a piece.
Into the decider and the momentum seemed to have swung the way of Fish as she broke early to open up a 3-1 lead.
But the break didn’t last long as Isner broke straight back and held to level the set. And neither player was able to get the decisive break and a tie breaker was required to separate the pair.
Fish was in charge from the start as he opened up a commanding 4-1 lead and while Isner did continue to battle he could close the gap and Fish wrapped up a 4-6 6-4 7-6 (7-4) to lift his second consecutive title.
Speaking to the BBC after the match Fish said: "I feel as good as I've ever felt in my career.
"I've never won two tournaments in one year, I've never won two tournaments in a row, and on the ATP tour, I've never won 10 matches in a row.
"It's probably as good as it's been."
