Novak Djokovic ended the run of Guillermo Garcia-Lopez to reach the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters.
The world number two, who is the highest seeded player left in the draw is looking for his second successive title after defending his China Open crown last week.
And the Serb was in dominant fashion as he lost just give games in the 6-2 6-3 win over the in form Spaniard, Garcia Lopez won the Thailand open two weeks ago defeating Rafael Nadal along the way.
Djokovic was soon into his rhythm and two breaks of serve in the opening set saw it go the way of the US Open runner-up 6-2.
Into the second and a third break in the fourth game saw Djokovic move 4-1 ahead and while Garcia-Lopez did hold onto his serve for the rest of the match he couldn't get the set back on level terms.
He wrapped up the win in just seventy seven minutes to move into the semi-final as he searches for his first Masters title of the 2010 season.
Speaking to the ATP website, Djokovic said: "I felt great on the court today, Garcia Lopez has been playing some good tennis in last couple of weeks, beating Nadal in Bangkok.
"I was aware of his speed on the court. He hits the ball really well from the baseline. He made me work for the points. Even though it looked comfortable at 2 & 3, I had to really be aware of the speed of the ball that was coming from the other side of the net."
Djokovic will now face either third seed Roger Federer, who he last faced and beat in the US Open semi final, or the fifth seed Robin Soderling.
The pair are currently on court and Federer has taken the first set 6-1.
