Novak Djokovic made light work of Viktor Troicki as he saw of his compatriot in straight sets.
After suffering with jet lag in his opening match Djokovic was back in full swing yesterday as he dispatched his opponent in just over an hour.
After taking the first set 6-3 he put his foot on the gas to take the second set without Troicki picking up a single game.
He wrapped up the match 6-3 6-0 and will now face Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the quarter final.
After a good run at the U.S. Open, which saw him lose to Federer in the semi-final, Djokovic is enjoying a good run of form and is the second seed at the Beijing tournament.
Verdasco, who struggled at the Open with injury, also seems to be back fighting fit as he saw off Juan Carlos Ferrero 7-5 6-4.
Another player in fine form is fourth seed Nikolay Davydenko who needed just fifty six minutes to beat Philipp Kohlschreiber in an emphatic victory.
Davydenko is also showing some good for and he let Kohlschreiber pick up just one game over the two sets as he wrapped up the victory 6-1 6-0.
Waiting for him in the last eight is Marin Cilic, the conqueror of Andy Murray at the U.S. Open as he saw off Frenchman Julien Benneteau.
The momentum shifted between the two players as it took three sets for Cilic to clinch victory winning 6-2 2-6 6-0.
Today the other four matches for quarter final places will be played today as Rafael Nadal takes on James Blake, Marat Safin against Fernando Gonzalez, Ljubicic will face Kubot and Soderling will play Robredo.
