Novak Djokovic

While other players who competed at the Olympics last week were looking at little fatigued Djokovic, who failed to pick up a medal in London, looked in good form.

Tomic has been one of the young players to keep an eye on as he has shot up the rankings but he was no match for the pace and power of Djokovic yesterday.

But Tomic did have six break point chances throughout out the match but he was unable to make a breakthrough and get a foothold in the match.

Despite some pressure on Djokovic's serve the former world number one looked completely in control and needed just seventy one minutes to wrap up a 6-2 6-3 victory.

It has been a difficult summer for Djokovic as he was unable to win the French Open final before losing his Wimbledon crown and with it his world number one ranking.

But he will now face the big hitting American Sam Querrey in the next round as he saw off Kei Nishikori of Japan 6-2, 6-3.
