Rafael Nadal's injury woes continue as he has been forced to withdraw from the Thailand Open.
The Spaniard has been plagued with problems since the French Open back in June when he made a shock exit in the third round to Robin Soderling.
It soon became apparent that he was suffering from tendonitis and was forced to withdraw from Wimbledon, where he was defending champion.
After ten weeks out he returned at the Montreal Masters, where he made the quarters, before going on to Cincinnati, where he made the semis.
The former world number one went into the U.S. Open earlier this month confident after his form but aggravated a abdominal injury in the early rounds.
He was hampered by the injury and lost heavily to Juan Martin Del Potro, the eventual winner, in the semi final.
Having received treatment for the injury since the Open an ultrasound discovered that he had "acute rupture of his right abdominal muscle" and must rest.
Despite this set back his performance at the U.S. Open has seen him reclaim the world number two spot, after slipping to three during his absence.
