Serena Williams has remained at the top of the women's singles ranking as she claimed her fourth Wimbledon title at the weekend, successful defending the title she won twelve months ago.
The American has played sparingly so far this season winning just two titles, however those two titles have been the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
Despite having to retire from her fourth round match with Vera Zvonareva at Wimbledon a good clay court season has seen Jelena Jankovic move up a single place from three to world number two.
Caroline Wozniacki has also moved up a place from four to three despite a disappointing French Open and Wimbledon, which saw her crash out earlier than expected on both occasions.
Venus Williams' shock quarter final exit from the tournament has seen her ranking drop from two to four after failing to defend runner up points from twelve months ago.
Samantha Stosur jumped over Elena Dementieva, who did not play Wimbledon because of injury, the Australian in now fifth while Dementieva dropped a single place to number six.
Kim Clijsters' run to the quarter finals has seen her move up a single place to world number seven while Francesca Schivone dropped from seven to eight.
Vera Zvonareva jumped up from twenty one to inside the top ten after she reached for first grand Slam final at the weekend. Li Na also jumped up two places from twelve to number ten.
