Svetlana Kuznetsova Wins China Title

Svetlana Kuznetsova lifted the China Open title in Beijing at the weekend, seeing off Agnieszka Radwanska.

It's been a mixed season for the Russian after lifting the French Open tile back in June having suffered from up and down form.

She crashed out of the Pan Pacific tournament the week before in just the second round. But she put all that behind her as she displayed some impressive tennis all week.

However she appears to have found that form at just the right time as the women begin to gear up for their end of year tournament in Doha, for which Kuznetsova has already qualified.

It was a straight forward win for Grand Slam champion as she broke her opponent in her opening service game as Radwanska tasted defeat in a WTA Final for the very first time.

Speaking after her win to Sky Sports she said: "I guess I just like to play here," having been runner up at this tournament on two occasions.

"I have some different luck here and definitely like the atmosphere. The support is great.

"Normally I feel tired at the end of the season but now I feel great."

The end of season championship get underway in Doha at the end of the month.
