Kvitova takes Wuhan title

Petra Kvitova admitted she is back to her best after thrashing Dominika Cibulkova in straight sets on Saturday to win the Wuhan Open.

Kvitova, who had already beaten Angelique Kerber, Britain's Johanna Konta and fourth seed Simona Halep en route to the final, wasted little time in claiming her first title of the year.

The Czech Republic ace lost only two games in a 6-1 6-1 triumph to secure the Far East crown for the second time in her career.

The two-time Wimbledon champion needed just 66 minutes to down her Slovakian opponent and has now turned her attention to qualifying for the end-of-season WTA Finals in Singapore.

She will rise to 11th in the world rankings on Monday and was delighted by both the result and her form in China.

"It's great for sure to win it for a second time," she said. "I'm happy for that, how I played all week. I think it was amazing really.

"I do like the conditions here. I feel that it's a little bit faster. I really can play my game here."
