Lestienne hit with seven-month ban

Constant Lestienne has been banned for seven months after being found guilty of betting on 220 matches in a three-year spell.

The 24-year-old Frenchman, who is currently 164 in the world rankings and without an ATP title win, was also fined $10,000 for the offences committed between February 2012 and June 2015.

The Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU), which was set up in 2008 to try and eradicate betting-related corruption in tennis, confirmed that none of the games Lestienne bet on involved him.

Lestienne has been informed by the TIU that he can see his ban suspended by half "on condition of no further offences".

He will also see the fine cut to $5,000 should he "give assistance", including anti-corruption education for other players, to the TIU.
