Roger Federer could face another tough week on the tennis court in Cincinnati as he potentially could face Juan Martin Del Potro in his opening match.

The world number three crashed out in Montreal in the third round as he lost for the second consecutive time to big hitting Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and could face a tricky second round match.

Federer will be given a first round bye but Del Potro could be waiting for him if the 2010 U.S. Open champion beats Andreas Seppi.

Viktor Troicki could be a third round opponent for Federer with Tomas Berdych waiting for him in the quarter final.

Federer finds himself in the same half of the draw as Novak Djokovic once again and a semi-final clash between the pair could be on the cards.

Djokovic may be the world number one but he has a tough path through the daw with Ryan Harrison or Juan Ignacio Chela in the second round.

Either John Isner or Stanislas Wawrinka are potential third round clashes whilst Andy Roddick or Gael Monfils could be waiting in the quarter final.

In the other half of the draw both Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray will be looking to improve on their second round exits in Montreal this week.

Nadal has lost ground on world number one Djokovic with his early exit and he will be looking to get some good court time this week as he prepares to defend his U.S .Open title.

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez or a qualifier will be his opening opponent in round two with Mikhail Youzhny, Michael Llodra, Fernando Verdasco or Thomaz Bellucci all possible third round clashes.

Nadal finds himself in the same quarter as Mardy Fish and the American is most likely to be his quarter final opponent with Murray in the semis.

Andy Murray has been playing doubles with his brother Jamie in Montreal after a disappointing singles campaign and he will face either David Nalbandian or a qualifier in his opening match.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (should be play) or Marin Cilic could be waiting in the third round whilst fifth seed David Ferrer is a potential quarter final clash.

This is the last event for the top players before they head to New York for the U.S. Open.
