Bournemouth defender Rhoys Wiggins has revealed he is hoping to extend his loan with Championship side Birmingham.
The defender rejoined Bournemouth for a fourth time in January but failed to make a single appearance before the end of last term.
Birmingham secured his services on-loan until January during the summer transfer window, however, his chances have been restricted by the excellent form of Jonathan Grounds.
Despite a lack of gametime at St Andrew’s the left-back insists he is enjoying his time with the club and hopes to extend his loan until the end of the current campaign.
Wiggins said: “I’m here until January and Birmingham is an ideal club and place for me to play my football.
“It’s not too far from home, which is nice because my family are settled in Beaconsfield.
“It’s a club that makes sense for me, so I’m going to do my utmost to force my way into the team and perform well and hopefully extend it in January and see what it holds then.
“I was in and out of the team at Sheffield Wednesday and then made the move to Bournemouth where I went as a back-up so I knew I wasn’t going to get too many minutes.
“But it felt like the right move at the time. Now I’m just looking to get some game time this time around.”
