Frank Lampard and Gary Neville will both start for England in thier World Cup quarter-final with Portugal after recovering from injuries.

Lampard has shook off the effects of a twisted ankle and Neville plays after three matches out with a calf problem.

Cristiano Ronaldo's chances of playing seem slim, the Portugal winger missied training on Friday to receive treatment on his injured thigh.

The game is to be played under the closed roof at the AufShchalke Arena, and the England officials asked for the roof to be closed during Friday's training session in order to replicate Saturday's match conditions.

England (likely): Robinson, Neville, Ferdinand, Terry, A Cole, Beckham, Lampard, Hargreaves, Gerrard, J Cole, Rooney.

Portugal (probable): Ricardo, Miguel, Carvalho, Meira, Valente, Petit, Maniche, Sabrosa, Figo, Ronaldo, Pauleta.

Referee: Horacio Elizondo (Argentina)

Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, has overseen England's previous two dismissals from major tournaments, has had to rethink his palns due to Costinha and Deco being suspended, and the doudt over Ronaldo.

Scolari, who guided Brazil to the 2002 World Cup and Portugal to the Euro 2004 final, could bring in Simao Sabrosa and move Figo into central midfield.

Lampard picked up his injury on Thursday during a practice session but joined in with the ball work on Friday and will start the game.

"He's fit, 100%, no concerns at all. He will play," said Eriksson.

Gary Neville is also fit, having recovered from the calf injury he suffered a fortnight ago in the final training session before the group match with Trinidad and Tobago.

Neville resumed training on Wednesday and on Friday seemed determined to prove his fitness, putting in some hard challenges on David Beckham and Ashley Cole.

"I've trained and I'm available for selection," Neville told a press conference "The manager will make the decision and whatever he decides I would go along with even though I am desperate to play."

Eriksson later confirmed Neville would play probably with Owen Hargreaves returning to midfield to accommodate Neville, with Michael Carrick dropping to the subs bench.
