Caroline asks :

I really want to spice up my wardrobe with a pair of new jeans but I don't want dull blue. What do you suggest for something a bit more exciting?

Female First replies

Well Caroline, I recommend going for some patterned jeans this summer, as I'm a little bit tired of all the distressed denim looks out there at the moment!

Bleached denim is nice, granted, but if you really want to stand out for the crowd, go for either leopard print, as seen on Fearne Cotton or acid wash, as sported on Agyness Deyn recently.

As long as you keep the rest of your outfit simple and let your jeans do the talking, then you don't need to be afraid of trying something new.

I'm loving the snow wash style too, which has been a massive hit with those oh-so stylish celebs recently. Spotted on Kate Moss and Kate Bosworth, you know this is a trend to take seriously.

Here are my top three jeans for the summer...

Leopard Print Jeans,

If you don't want standard denim, coloured denim is going to be huge this Spring, especially candy coloured pairs shades. Agyness Deyn and Katy Perry are both fans of this look and anything Agy does is sure to become a massive trend.

Coloured legs work well with a plain or patterned top meaning that you can hit the colour blocking trend too.

Wear the jeans with a plain top and pumps in the day and throw on a strappy patterned top and heels for the evening. Keep the jeans skinny, baggy or flared will cheapen the look.

If you're still a bit shy about this trend you could go for pastel blue or if you want to fully embrace it go for pink, yellow or green jeans.

We love this Marks & Spencer's pair for just £25.
