Lisa asks :

What type / style of top should I wear with a long skirt?

Female First replies

If you're wearing a long skirt you need to balance your whole look out, you need to consider what shape the skirt is first to ensure you create the ideal silhouette.

First things first though, if you're not particularly tall heels are a must for long skirts and dresses. They help to create a longer frame, and if you're too short a long skirt will completely drown your frame.

Loose long skirts are going to need a tight-fitted top worn with them, if you don't you'll risk looking like a tent - in the nicest sense.

But if you're wearing something that's a little tighter, like a tube maxi skirt, wearing a loose top is an option. But if you want to flaunt your figure, a crop top or fitted vest would work too.

Crop tops are a good option with long skirts too, as they help to break up the frame a little and create a longer looking silhouette.
