An African Safari is the adventure of a lifetime. Africa is a continent of unique and varied contrasts - with great differences in experience between Southern Africa and East Africa.

Planning a Safari is a challenge. It's unlike planning for any other holiday.
Where to go
The best place to go on safari depends on where you'd like to go. East and Southern Africa both boast excellent game viewing, whilst if it's beaches and culture you want, the Indian ocean islands are beautiful.
Eastern Africa tends to be more accessible, making this an ideal first trip to africa. You'll see everything from barren plains to snow capped peaks, and maybe even a little culture along the way.
Southern Africa is more diverse in the safari activities it offers. You're more likely to find yourself veiwing game from the back of an elephant than any other reigion of Africa, as well as going on night safaris, canoe safaris, and host of other types. You'll alos be accomodated in a far smaller group than in eastern Africa, making it feel more like an adventure than a holiday.
When to go
This depends on where you'd like to go.
In East Africa, the long rains are in April and early June, the short rains tend to be in November and December. Obvoiusly, it's cheaper during the rainy seasons, but if Money isn't a consideration, on this trip, gi during the dry seasons as they offer better visibility, more reliable driving conditions and it make the animals easier to find.
In Southern Africa, the rainy season runs mainly from late November through mid-April in the safari regions. May and June are the best times to go there - the It's dry, but the high season rates have not gone into effect, yet.
Generally the weather in the Indian Ocean Islands is similar to that of southern Africa, with the summer rains lasting from November through April, with occasional cyclones during that time. The dry season from May to October is ideal.
