It seems you’re never too old to be truly sexy. The art of seduction has a legion of new and possibly unexpected followers, with one in ten over 50s admitting they would like to learn Burlesque.

Following requests from its guests, Warner Leisure Hotels is testing its very first Burlesque Experience at its historic Thoresby Hall Hotel in Nottingham.

Led by professional dancer Sapphire Divine {Emma Buczman}, guests will be taught fun and light-heart routines designed to help them let their inhibitions go and find their inner seductress– complete with costumes, silk gloves and feather boas.

Angela Fenocchi, New Product Development Manager at Warner Leisure Hotels said, "We are always looking at new and fun Experiences to offer our guests, and inspired by films such as Christina Aguilera and Cher’s Burlesque; and celebrities like Dita Von Teese, we wanted to try and offer something a bit different.

“Burlesque isn’t just for the young; it’s a glamorous art form that anyone can learn.  Our trial classes are designed to make sure that everyone can take part – whatever age, shape or size.”

Thanks to Strictly Come Dancing learning how to dance has seen a huge surge in popularity. If the Experience proves popular Burlesque will be the latest edition to Warner Leisure Hotel’s Learn to Dance Experiences, and follows a 10% growth in bookings for its dance Experiences during 2010. Renowned for its short weekend breaks exclusively for adults, the hotel provider is also known for its wide range of Experiences, offering more than 4000 additional activities to try during your stay.

Dances renowned for being more passionate, such as the Tango, have proved the most popular. Bookings for the Learn to Dance Tango Experience were up 85% in 2010 compared to 2009.

Nearly a third of over 50s think the fantastic health benefits associated with learning to dance, such as weight loss and improved fitness are the key reason for it popularity. In addition, it being a very social activity (28%) and a great way to meet a potential partner (11%) are also suggested reasons for its attraction.

Warner Leisure Hotels also exclusively offers Strictly Come Dancing breaks featuring some of the series’ favourite Professional dancing stars and judges such as Craig Revel Horwood. Each break features at least two dance classes taught by top international dancers, question and answer sessions with the television stars and a series of stunning performances in the evening.
