Houseboating in Kerala

The Indian province of Kerala is an ideal destination for travelers wanting an alternative boating holiday this year.
Traditional ‘kettuvalloms’, or houseboats, leisurely cruise along the backwaters of Kerala whilst exploring the many lakes, canals and estuaries.
These boats used to transport rice and spices around the area, and contemporary tours often include visits to spice plantations.
Trips to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary are also a must, with the promise of travelers seeing elephants, monkeys, buffalo, wild boar and occasionally tigers.The city of Cochin boasts the oldest European church in India, St.Francis’s Church, a Dutch Palace and a variety of antique shops in Jew Town.Trips are concluded at some of India’s beautiful beaches.
