Kids love to cruise

If you're planning on taking the kids on holiday, this summer, you could do worse than to book a cruise. According to National Geographic Kids Magazine, over one third of kids would choose a cruise as their top summer holiday.

Way ahead of the traditional Summer Camp and Beach Holidays, cruise liners often offer entertainment for all the family.

Carnival Cruise Lines, for example, offers the Camp Carnival programme, where kids are invited to take part in all kinds of games, parties, talent shows, arts, crafts and movies in the "FunShip".One company even offers Kids only Shore excursions

There were further surprises instore, too, whae asked what was the item kids couldn't leave home without, 22% said a book, whilst, ipods and DVD players were in third place with only 17%

Elsewhere, the survey showed that kids love spending time with their families during holidays (33 per cent of respondents), choosing it ahead of activities such as swimming, boating and bike riding (30 per cent).

According to the kids, the best thing about a holiday is seeing a new place. Learning new skils, eating out and meeting new people were less popular all recieving a single figure percentage of the vote.
