Oh I do love to be beside the seaside

When we think of a beach holiday, we think of hot sandy beaches with a nice cocktail bar. Well what if we can have that gorgeous seaside holiday, right here in the UK.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing, beach holiday with cocktails or action packed break, here are some hotspots for all sorts of seaside getaways.

LA style:

The only way is Essex put Essex back on the map bringing fake tan and huge eyelashes with it. But it has kept one of the countries liveliest seaside towns a hidden gem. If you are looking for a bustling and lively getaway then Southend - on -Sea is the place to be.

Essex is… Image.

From it’s seafront lined with beautiful cliffs and palm trees along Southend’s Seafront to the cultured pubs and cockle sheds along the cobbled street of Old Leigh., all of it screams relaxation with beautiful and unique settings.

Essex is… Chic. Southend has a stylish high street with all of your favourite high street brands but if boutique is more your style then a ten minute car or train journey can take you to the classy and up market Leigh - on - Sea Broadway.

Essex is… Social. It wouldn’t be a seaside getaway without a few cocktails and Southend doesn’t shy away at night. There is a range of bustling bars and clubs to choose from, including ‘Ocean Beach’ which sits right on the beach, so you can feel the sand beneath your feet and hear the waves as you sip away at a nice glass of rose.

That isn’t all Southend has to offer though, it comes complete with theme park, sealife centre, arcades and of course it’s very own music scene, all of which are a stone throw away from the beach.

Peaceful, romantic getaway:

Of course some of us just want ultimate relaxation. So if you want a nice, remote setting for your beach getaway, where better to go than the picturesque Lytham St. Annes - on - Sea in Lancashire.

Lytham St Annes has some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK and nothing better relaxes the mind than a walk though stunning parks and gardens or along a golden sandy beach.

You can take a stroll along the beautifully restored Victorian pier, which not only offers scenic views but also a range of restaurants, shops and amusements.

Of course this beautiful seaside town offers more than beautiful and relaxing scenery, Lytham St. Annes mixes the traditional seaside activities with modern day excitement. With everything from a miniature train and donkey rides to a miniature golf course and water walking. But if you want a bit adventure, Blackpool is only down the road so you can take a trip to the famous Pleasure Beach to bring a bit of adventure to your holiday.

Lytham St. Annes is one of the UK’s hidden seaside gems and could be your answer to a romantic getaway, so book that long weekend off and make your way to the North West.

The Adrenalin junkie:

Some of us would rather be getting out hearts beats racing than taking a nice relaxing walk or sipping cocktails on the beach. Where better to do that, than in Newquay, Devon. Voted one of the best seaside towns in the UK and known for it’s ‘perfect for surfing’ waves, this bustling seaside town screams adventure.

After an action packed day, a nice relaxing spa treatment can wind you down in preparation to start it all over again the next day. Newquay of course comes prepared with a range of spa treatments available, so all your needs are catered for.

If spa treatments aren’t your thing however and you would prefer to continue on with some adventure there are a range of bars, clubs and pubs to entertain. With live music and Radio 1 DJ’s playing at various venues.
