Those wishing to visit Vietnam from today until 15 October 2004 should be aware of an entry requirement restriction, due to planning for the Asia Europe Meeting, which will take place in Hanoi between 7-9 October.
Visitors holding Category D visa (clearly marked on the visa itself) should not travel to Vietnam between 30 September and 15 October, as they are likely to be refused entry.
This category of visa is valid for 15 days to foreigners whose applications are not sponsored officially or by a recognised Vietnamese travel agency.
Those already holding a Category D visa will have the right to remain in Vietnam limited until the end of the day on 30 September.
No other categories of visa are affected.
For further information on entry requirements please contact the Vietnamese Embassy, 020 7937 1912.
