Virgin Atlantic has become the world’s first airline to fly on biofuel from London Heathrow to Amsterdam.
The airline flew one of its Boeing 747s using a sustainable type of biofuel based on coconut and babassu oil - the first time in the world that an airline has run this biofuel in-flight.
Throughout the duration of the flight one of the four engines on the Boeing 747 was powered by the greener fuel.
It was also announced that the aircraft did not require any modification to use the new fuel.
