Hotel ibis Styles, Liverpool

Hotel Ibis Styles Liverpool is located in the heart of the city; with parking located right next door at a discounted rate of £10.00 per night. So if you are staying in the hotel- it doesn’t cost the earth to have access to everything in Liverpool that you desire for the night.

We were greeted by Jose who confirmed our reservation and gave us our room key. The hotel is very secure in such a central setting as your room key is needed to access the lifts to get to your room.

The lobby is decorated bursts of colour from the bright cerise chairs that are in the seating area to the bar that is right ahead of you as you enter, tempting you to have a drink on arrival.

The chain has drawn on the theme of The Beatles in its decor inspiration. With refrences throughout to the band through lyrics on the walls to black and white stencils and pictures of their fans- the hotel boasts homage to the great singers and songwriters in their birthplace.

The room itself was contemporary at its most extreme. With white walls and sheets, with bold signature colours; the room was very clean and minimalist in its accessories and accents. I was left a personalised card from the manager and was called by Jose to make sure everything was ok with our room.

Bottles of sparking water were provided as well as tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. There was also free WIFI on offer during our stay. There was a large flat screen TV, dressing table, air conditioning and ironing facilities.

The bathroom was spotless and boasted free body wash in case we had forgotten to bring any.

The room had an impressive view of the Liverpool skyline from the fifth floor, tempting you out into the city by day or night.

There was a reasonably priced menu available at the hotel; however we opted to go out into the city for a bite to eat. The staff were extremely helpful in recommending a place to eat and gave us directions. There are bars and restaurants a mere 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel and an Odeon cinema for a more relaxed evening out.

By day you are a short walk away from Albert Dock, Liverpool One, Liverpool Echo Arena, the Liver buildings and the Liverpool Museum.  The breakfast was entirely buffet style. With a large variety of continental options, such as cold meats, boiled eggs, pastries, toast, fruit and cheese, there was something to suit every palate. I would suggest you aim to get there early as peak times are extremely busy and difficult to navigate around the breakfast bars and limited seating too.

Overall, the hotel is ideal for couples or families who are looking for something different. We also witnessed a very lively group of women celebrating a hen do- so the hotel is a great base for a night out around the bars for a special occasion. The establishment oozes a unique modern edge and has great access to all the highlights that Liverpool has to offer. With 24 hour parking you can take advantage of the night and the day in the city centre to extend your stay that little bit more!
