This week I did two reviews at the Novotel Hotels Excel and Canary Wharf, Thursday I checked in at the Novotel Excel 3 minutes walk for the LMR about 15 minutes out of Euston, it was really easy to find.

Novotel Excel London

Novotel Excel London

The staff welcomed me to the hotel then told me breakfast was included in my stay and they had selected me a lovely room as I went to go to the lift I was met by the General manager Michael and I think his number 2.

They told me a little bit of information about the hotel showed me where the bar area was and where I was to go to the restaurant, and if I needed any assistance just call reception. To get to your room the lifts need your key card for added security

Off to my room I went, I was on the top floor with amazing views over the Thames Excel which was literally 500 yards away, the O2 and in the distance I could see City airport, so this is an excellent location for of these.

I was in a stunning open plan suite so had plenty of space to relax, a nice lounge area with an amazing mural on the wall of the 02 a nice seating area, writing desk and lounger. There was a huge comfy bed at one end and to one side was a mirrored shower and toilet you can see out but obviously not in. Robes and slippers were all provided, great for me as I like to get out of my suit at the first opportunity.

This would be the perfect place to stay if you intended to stay long term.

I chilled on the bed watching a bit of tele before having a shower and getting changed for my evening meal.

The dining staff where really helpful and knew who I was and showed me to a nice table again with lovely views over the river. I was offered a menu and something to drink, The General manager saw me sitting by myself so came over to talk to me while I ordered my food.

I went for my favourite Rib eye steak and chips and a glass of wine the steak, he told me some history of the area and the bronze statue of 3 men outside of the hotel all very interesting, but it made me feel good that he had taken the time to come over.

My dinner came so he left the steak was cooked to perfection and after I decided to go for the cheese selection it was a nice finish to the meal. I stayed downstairs at the bar for one more drink before retiring off to bed.

I had a really good night sleep having set my alarm for 7.30 because I had an early start in the morning. I took a nice shower and went down for breakfast

It was self service, a selection of hot and cold foods fresh fruits and cereal I went for a glass of orange and the full English breakfast the sausages where the best I have had in ages, a nice pot of tea set me up for the day.

When I checked out I asked if I could leave my luggage behind and collect it later yes not a problem, they gave me a ticket and took it away.   When I returned the reception staff again where so nice the new I was off to the next hotel so told me how to get there either taxi or LMR. I decided to spoil myself and got a taxi they ordered the taxi for me and told me how much it would cost, which was really helpful.

I would definitely recommend staying at the Novotel Excel all the staff her really helpful, the room was amazing and the food was really good.
